At 560m above sea level Beechworth can experience a wide range of temperatures during Spring. Between day and night they range from an average of 9C (48F) at night to 22C (72F) during the day. Do bring warm clothing – just in case there is an unseasonable snowfall in the nearby Victorian Alps!
There is plenty of (free) parking along the sides of roads running through the Mayday Hills precinct and in the carparks outside the Bijou Theatre and behind the George Kerferd Hotel. Several Disabled Parking spots, (for those with an official Disability Parking pass), will be available just outside the George Kerferd Hotel main entrance.
You are welcome to bring your pet as there are pet-friendly accommodation options in Beechworth. However, to ensure that all patrons can enjoy the the festival’s jams, picks and concerts please do not bring them onto the George Kerferd Hotel grounds or into any of the venues. Beechworth Boarding Kennels & Cattery are located a short distance from the festival site.
The Harold Whittaker Room, (our main venue), is located in the George Kerferd Hotel and is fully wheelchair accessible. The Bijou Theater is also wheelchair accessible. However, the rooms in the Mayday Hills Arts Society are not with one step on the ground floor, and a flight of stairs running to the upstairs venue.
There are disabled toilets in the foyer of the George Kerferd Hotel and there is disabled parking at the entrance to the George Kerferd.
